The Utmost Story: What makes us different.
Our Story
Utmost Athletics came to be through the vision of Ty Singleton. Ty's goal in starting Utmost was to participate in transforming peoples overall mental physical and spiritual health by building deep friendships while training in an excellent strength program. In the Summer of 2018 under the non-profit umbrella of The Columbia Future Forge, Utmost Athletics was successfully launched. In just 6 weeks, Utmost and the Forge raised $55,000 in startup funding and transformed a warehouse storage space at Columbia Presbyterian Church into a state-of-the-art gym and weight training facility.
What Makes Utmost Different?
Technique
Utmost participants are required to complete an introductory starter’s program where they receive coaching and instruction in proper technique prior to moving on to more advanced strength building training cycles. As an athlete progresses in more challenging training cycles our commitment to a small student-to-coach ratio maintains a safe and highly skilled training environment. Please learn more about our coaches at utmostathletics.com by clicking on “Our Team” tab at the top of the webpage.
Attitude
Our gym motto is "check your ego at the door." We believe it is important for each athlete to come ready to learn and develop, beginning with an honest self-assessment of their current skill level. We focus on progress through systematic training. We are committed to being an encouraging community and maintain a supportive learning environment for everyone to develop and improve.
Whole Life
We are interested in pouring into the life of each athlete. At Utmost, you are not merely a commodity or a customer - you are valued as a unique human being. We want to spend our time and energy helping you to live a high-quality life filled with meaning and purpose. In addition to physical training we are interested in investing in developing the whole person through optional life skills training sessions. Ask us about it!
Cost
Our desire is to provide this advanced level of training as affordably as we can. Currently it costs $100 per month for 3 days a week. We do not want to see anyone priced out of the joy of sport. Thanks to donor support, some scholarships are available. Contact us for more information.
